Due to continued extreme cold temperatures and wind chill, as well as dangerous road conditions, Madison County Schools will be closed on Wednesday, January 17. This decision was made in consultation with local law enforcement and the Madison County Emergency Operations Center. Please stay safe in these wintry conditions!
1. Please send a note with your child to the teacher when there is any change from normal transportation plans. This will allow the teacher to make sure the student gets to the right destination. Notify the office as well so we can make a note of the change. 2. Remember the dress code for our students at Highland. With cooler weather, girls wearing tights should wear a top that meets the fingertip rule. Thank you for helping us to make sure children meet the dress code requirements.
Parents, please remember there will be no early dismissals after 1:30 each day except with a doctor's excuse. This allows us to protect instructional time for all students, minimize disruption to classrooms when teachers are trying to get in the last few teaching minutes of the day, and keep our dismissal procedures running smoothly. Thank you for your support as we work to protect valuable teaching time for our scholars!
