Letter from Mr. Perritt
Good evening Germantown Family. This is Mr. Perritt, Principal at Germantown Middle School. First and foremost, please stay safe and we dearly miss our students and our parents.
Our Maverick family has a great opportunity to grow from this event. We have an opportunity to learn differently as students, teach differently as teachers, and most of all parent differently as parents! GMS PTO and teachers have fun challenges and activities planned throughout our distance learning time. We expect students to sleep right, eat right, and study right. Teachers will post assignments and monitor your work.
Our technology department has been working around the clock to prepare for Chromebook distribution next week to our 6th and 7th grade students. These devices are available for checkout to students who do not have access to Canvas at home through a personal device.
If you registered for Chromebook checkout for your student at Germantown Middle School, please come to campus on Thursday, March 26, between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to pick up the device. Devices for Germantown Middle School 6th and 7th grade students must be picked up at our campus, not at any other location.
Because these Chromebooks are publicly-owned devices, the registered student must be present at check out and accompanied by a parent, guardian, or other adult listed in SAM. That adult will need to bring a government issued ID. We have posted a list of these requirements and frequently asked questions on our district website under the school closure information. Please double-check to make sure you have everything you need so that the checkout process will go as smoothly as possible.
Parents and students please continue to check our GMS website, Facebook page, Twitter account, active parent account, and our PTO Facebook page for the latest information.
GMS teachers will begin to contact students about lessons and assignments that will be posted by 8:00 am, Monday, March 23, 2020.
Parents, our expectations are for Germantown Middle School students to spend quality instructional time everyday on all their classes. The GMS website and our teachers’ websites will be the best source for information. We will post additional information on our GMS website on a daily basis.
Remember, Its always a great day to be a Mav!
