    Always an adventure

    Dear M.A.U.E. Parents and Students,

It is hard to believe that our school year has already come to an end!  I have enjoyed watching our students grow this school year!

I want to encourage each student to continue to work on your skills over the summer.  (A summer packet was sent home the last week of school & can also be found on our school's website.)  It does make a difference when you review your skills a little bit each day.  I hope you will spend 30 minutes each day working on reading, writing, and/or math.

I also want to encourage each student to spend this summer being a kid!  Your homework from your principal is to laugh every single day.  Yes, I am encouraging you to get dirty and play in the mud, observe the wonderful things about nature, dance in the rain (when it's not lightning), ride your bikes, play on the playgrounds, and if your family goes on a vacation, send me a post card to the school!  (1209 Madison Avenue, Madison, MS, 39110)  I will love to see the adventures you are going to go on this summer!

I will be mailing you a 'Welcome Back' letter toward the end of July.  This letter will inform you of important dates, such as our 'Meet the Teacher Night', 'First Day of School', and 'Parent Open House' events.  I will also be mailing out your post cards to you the week before the first day to notify you of your new teacher for the 2019-2020 academic year.  Our summer office hours are also posted on the front doors of the school building.

Have a safe and fun summer!  I can't wait to see you when we return in August of 2019!

    Dr. Kim Hurst, Principal
