About the Teacher:
Hello, and welcome to my webpage! I teach 7th and 8th grade Advanced ELA. Language Arts has always been my favorite subject! This is my eleventh year teaching at Germantown Middle School. I am a graduate of Mississippi State University, and I completed my Master's of Education Degree from Mississippi College in 2011. I am also a National Board Certified Teacher. I am a native of Madison, and I graduated from Madison Central High School. I taught for three years in the Yazoo County School District prior to coming to GMS. Prior to teaching in Yazoo County, I worked as a Behavior Therapist Associate at the Child Development Clinic at The University of Mississippi Medical Center, where I conducted in-clinic sessions as well as performed outreach within school districts around our state; so I have been in the classroom for a total of fifteen years - and I love it!.
I have been married to my husband, Josh, for nineteen years, and we have 16-year-old twin boys, Parker and Cooper, who attend Germantown High School. I also have an 11-year-old son, Noah, who attends Mannsdale Upper Elementary. I must also mention my other babies: my Boston Terrier, Zoey, and my cats, Felix and Punkin. Along with reading being a favorite of mine, I also love spending time with my family, watching Parker play football for GHS, and listening to Cooper play drums in the GHS Band.
