  • 2020 LAS Links Annual Assessment of English Learners

    English Learners in Madison County Schools will take LAS Links, the annual state assessment for English language proficiency, between the dates of March 3 and April 9, 2020.  LAS Links is the Mississippi Department of Education’s approved English Language Proficiency Test used to measure the yearly progress of English Learners.  All ELs enrolled in schools served by the state must be assessed annually using the state’s English language proficiency assessment [ESEA Section 1111(b)(2)(G)].

    LAS Links is a research-based English language proficiency assessment used to measure the speaking, listening, reading, writing, and comprehension skills of K–12 English Learners.  Teachers and school administrators use results from LAS Links to help identify language development difficulties a student may have in English language acquisition in addition to using the assessment to track and monitor progress in attaining English language proficiency.

    Reporting Lost or Stolen Laptop
     
    Students will be allowed to take their device home including the holidays.  Please be aware that we will not be providing technical assistance during this time.  If your laptop is lost or stolen, you will need to contact the police immediately and fill out the Theft Form to report it to school administration.  Parent/guardian will be responsible for full replacement cost of laptop if not reported to MCS personnel within calendar 3 days of missing the device.
