• Hello, My Awesome Artists!!

I hope everyone had a successful first week of Distance Learning!! Here is an update for the second week of Distance Learning.

We will be working on CANVAS for the remainder of our Distance Learning. From now on you will get all of your assignments on CANVAS. Please continue to check for my group emails. You can locate the group emails on the left-hand side of your email screen and scroll down until you see “Groups.” Under “Groups” you will see your class block and a description of your class, for example, "Art One 2nd Block."

Recap of the week of March 23rd – March 27th, you should have been working on your Collage Project from Lessons #1 and #2 from Monday, March 23rd, and Wednesday, March 25th. Lesson #3 was given on Friday, March 27th, which contained the reading of the Collage Artist’s information and questions to complete from your reading. To help you with your 2nd and 3rd week of Distance Learning, you need to have completed your questions by Wednesday, April 1st.

Starting Monday, March 30th, all assignments will be on CANVAS.

    • Monday, March 30th: Finish the questions on the collage vocabulary and the collage artists from Lesson #3 that was on my website Friday, March 27th.
    • Wednesday, April 1st: If you have not finished the questions yet, please do so and then play Kahoot part 1 on just the three vocabulary words, Romare Bearden, and Georges Braque.
    • Friday, April 3rd: Review collage definitions and artist info on Romare Bearden and Georges Braque by playing Kahoot. (Yes, you may use your notes for help if needed.) We will have a quiz in Mastery Connect on Monday of next week on this information. Just like in our classroom, the quiz will be almost identical to the Kahoot. Super easy!!

--- I have also added the reading and questions from Week 1 so that you don't have to switch back and forth from Canvas to my webpage.

Class Conferences: We will meet every Monday for 30 minutes to discuss your week and any questions or concerns you may have regarding your schoolwork.I can't wait to meet with everyone! See the times below for your class conference that will be on CANVAS.

    • "A Day" Art One – 1:00-1:30 pm
    • "B Day" Art One – 2:00-2:30 pm

*All conferences will be recorded so that you may go back and listen at any time in case you miss your conference time.

Keep up with your collage, questions, and any other artwork off of CANVAS, and we will take those items up once we return to school.

I have attached a few helpful links below to help you with Canvas. Please email me anytime if you have any questions. I can’t wait to see everyone!! I miss you guys so much!!

    Sincerely,

    Mrs. Tullis

    Hello Everyone!

Update as of March 20, 2020

    Dear Art 1 Students,

By Monday morning, I will begin posting Art One assignments for March 23rd-27th on the left-hand side of my webpage under "Art One Vocabulary and Test Items."  There will be three assignments for next week...one for Monday, Wendnesday, and Friday. Each lesson will be uploaded individually on all three days. All of the assignments will only require paper and pencil with the option of including other supplies if you have them on hand. Students will NOT be penalized for not having extra supplies such as crayons, markers, scissors, glue, etc.

Please review and complete your assignments and email me within your class email group if you have any questions. You should've received an email invite Friday evening showing that you have been added to your group in addition to a separate email from me outlining information for the upcoming Distance Learning assignments. If the email doesn't show up, look in the left-hand margin once you are inside your email for "Groups." There is a small two person icon next to it. You should see the group listed under that.

Please email me with any questions or concerns you may have as soon as possible so that I can address those in a timely manner so that you do not get behind. Please stay safe and well!

Hi! I am Morgan Tullis. I currently teach ART I and can proudly say that I am beginning my 8th year of teaching at GMS. For my first 6 years as a Maverick, I taught 8th grade ELA, and last year I began a new endeavor by teaching four sections of Art I and one 7th grade advanced ELA class. It is with great excitement that I have the opportunity this year to teach all Art, which is something that I have loved doing for most of my life.

Prior to joining the Maverick team, I taught at Madison Middle School for 4 years, at Eastside Elementary in Clinton for 1 year, and at Rod Paige Middle School in Monticello for 1 year.

My husband, Jeremy, and I have lived in Madison for 12 years with our twin daughters, Sydney & Olivia, who are Sophomores at GHS this year. We also have two Shihtzus, who are brothers named Ace and Bandit.

We are going to be creating wonderful pieces of art work this year that will definitely be worth saving for years to come. In order to provide the best art experience for each student, please note that there is a fee of $15.00. This will cover everything they will need for the whole year. Please send the fee as soon as you can. If sending a check, please make it payable to Germantown Middle School and write your student's first and last name on the memo line. If paying cash, please send in a sealed envelope with the student’s first and last name on the outside. You will receive a receipt.

The only items they are responsible for having every day is a pencil and an eraser.

I have a calendar on my webpage to show what project we are on and how long it will last. All projects are done in class for the most part unless I give permission for a project to be completed at home. If your student feels he/she won’t get finished by the due date, they are more than welcome to come to my classroom during specified zero block days from 7:30 – 8:15. I look forward to an outstanding year with your student!  If you have any questions or concerns, please email me anytime!
