maze I have enjoyed investing in the education of students in Madison County classrooms for the past 26 years. Twenty-two years ago, I became a Highly Qualified Middle School Language Arts teacher as I began teaching 6th grade Reading at MMS. I Graduated from Mississippi College. Since I have been teaching at MMS, I returned to Mississippi College where I earned my Master's in Education. I also completed the National Boards process.
My husband, Gary Maze has been in the ministry in the metropolitan Jackson and Madison area for the last 40 years, serving on the church staff. He is on staff at French Camp Academy serving part-time. He enjoys consulting, ministry coaching, & speaking to parents, students, and young adults.  We have been married for 41 years.

Our son, Josh, is married to Stacie.  He serves on staff as the Worship Pastor at Pinelake Madison. They just had their first son (my only grandson) on April 12th, two years ago. His name is James.  My daughter Karleigh graduated from Mississippi College and got married 8 years ago.  She is beautiful inside & out! She married her high school sweetheart, Daniel Wagner.  They live in Madison.  Daniel is the executive pastor of ministry at Fondren Church and Karleigh is the Director of Development and Communications at Jackson Leadership Foundation.  They had our 1st grandchild on July 26, 2019. Her name is Stella.

About Me:  I love music. I love to sing on the praise team at church and I enjoy listening to music, spending time with my family and traveling during the summer.  I lost my father to a massive heart attack the week before school started 12 years ago and I just lost my mom in June two years ago, so spending time with my family and friends is a high priority.

I began teaching Theatre 11 years ago.  This year I am teaching Theatre for grades 6-8.  I am also one of the sponsors for the showchoirs, Kaleidoscope and Kadence and one of the 7th/8th grade girls choirs.  I am also one of the assistant directors for the after-school musicals we present.  I am looking forward to a great year!

    Goals for Theatre Class:
    1.  Teamwork, commitment, self-discipline, dependability, and respect...not only for this class, but for future life endeavors.
    2.  Learn to use the body, voice, & written language in positive and expressive ways.
    3.  Build active listening, speaking, & written communication skills including: articulation, enunciation, & projection.

Mission Statement: The mission of arts education in MS is to ensure that students know and experience the uniqueness of the arts, understand  themselves and their world by creating, expressing, and communicating meaning through the arts, and value the arts as humanity’s most essential and universal language transcending culture, time, and place.
