    About Mrs. Bumgarner

After graduating from Loyd Star High School in Brookhaven, Mississippi, I earned an associate's degree from Copiah-Lincoln Community College and a bachelor's degree from the University of Southern Mississippi.  I taught high school English from 1997 until 2001 in the Lincoln County School District.  From 2001 until 2006, I taught 7th grade English at Clinton Junior High.  During that time I earned a master's degree in education from Mississippi College.  In 2006 I began teaching reading and English at Madison Middle School, and this year marks my 25th year as an educator.  This will be my 13th year to teach 6th grade social studies at MMS.  In June of 2009, I was appointed by Governor Haley Barbour to serve a nine year term as the teacher representative on the Mississippi Board of Education.  My term expired in June of 2018.

I am married to Brad Bumgarner, and we have four daughters, Anna Kay, Brooke, Claire, and Bradyn.
