Message to Parents:
In learning strategies, we work on organizational skills as well as math skills. Students are required to write in their planners every block as part of the grade in this class. I discuss each student's individual progress and test scores, and I help students develop & implement a plan for academic success.
Communication between us is important, so please send me an email with your child's name in the subject line so that I can easily get in touch with you. Don't hesitate to shoot me an email if you have questions about anything!
I earned my bachelor's degree from Mississippi State University in 1998 (Go Dawgs!) and a Master's in Education (Curriculum & Instruction) from Belhaven University in 2017. I am certified in elementary education K-6, highly-qualified in middle school language arts & middle school math, and I am a certified media specialist (librarian). I was named a State Finalist for the Presidential Award of Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching for Mathematics in 2010. I grew up in Canton, and after living in Pensacola, FL, for six years, my family and I moved back home. I enjoy running, volunteering at church, being outside and spending time with my husband, son, and two dogs named Hot Wheels and Bear.
I'm very excited about what this school year holds for your child!
