Mrs. Takishaya Minnieweather: 2021-2022
Takishaya Minnieweather has taught for twenty-two years with nineteen of those being with Madison County School District. She lives in Madison with her wonderful husband, Hosea and her three amazing children: Akasha, Ashlyn, and Austin, son-in-law, Peter, and grand-pup, Blu. She currently teaches 6th Grade Advanced Language Arts. In her nine years of teaching at Germantown Middle School, she has taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Language Arts as well as 6th Grade Virtual Language Arts and 6th Grade Virtual World History. She has also served as a S.O.A.R. sponsor/fundraiser chair and a sponsor for Student Council. Her philosophy is that all students can learn, and that learning should be expected, encouraged, and engaging for every student. |
Michelle Stubbs: 2015-2016
Mrs. Stubbs has taught school for 14 years and completed her fourth year at GMS. She is married to Parker Stubbs and has two children (Addie in the 11th grade and Wilkes in the 8th grade). She enjoys, cooking, reading, and watching her children play sports. Mrs. Stubbs is also the cheerleading sponsor at GMS.

Stacy Tingle: 2014-2015
Mrs. Stacy Tingle is happily married to her husband, Mingo, and they have 3 beautiful children, Isaac-11, Jude-9 & Melynne "BitBit"-7. She graduated from Mississippi State University in 2001, with a degree in Elementary Education, and she has secondary certifications in English, General Sciences, Social Studies, STEM & Biology. She taught for two years, then was blessed with the opportunity to be a stay-at-home mom to her children for several years. She completed her Master's of Education at Belhaven University in 2010, and is very excited to complete her seventh year at Germantown Middle School.

Brian Potts - 2013-2014
Brian Potts attended Jefferson Davis Community College as a member of their honor's program and graduated with an Associate of Arts degree in 1992. He went on to Birmingham Southern College and received a BS in Biology in 1994. After spending several years working in corporate jobs, he went back to school and attained an Alternative to Teaching Certification from Governor's State University. He spent 3 years teaching at Memorial Junior High in the South Suburbs of Chicago. In his time there he started the Chess and Girls Softball teams and served as the Assistant Drama Director. Mr. Potts started is 4th year of teaching at Germantown Middle School in 2012. In his first year he served as an assistant coach for our State Champion Science Olympiad team. Mr. Potts is excited to be at Germantown Middle School and looks forward to many years of blasting the hallways with his Science songs. |
Ellen Crosby Lewing - 2012-2013 Ellen Crosby is a native of Madison. Crosby graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2002 with a Masters in Music Appreciation. She came to Germanwtown in 2008 to help start our band program. This year, she was faced with a task - pilot the Spanish and music appreciation programs. With the help of some local businesses, these programs have been a success. Spanish is a fun and interactive class. They never know what to expect each day! Ms. Crosby is exited to carry on the Maverick tradition. |
Brittany Starnes - 2011-2012 Mrs. Brittany Starnes teaches Art I, Art II, Advanced Art, and Learning Strategies. She also sponsors the Student Council. Mrs. Starnes enjoys seeing her students excel not only in art and their other studies but also in their extracurricular activities. She feels it is important to support her students outside of school as well as inside the classroom.

Mary Wilsford Hodges - 2010-1011 Mrs. Mary Wilsford Hodges teaches a self-contained special education class. She teaches reading, math, language arts, and life skills. She is a graduate of The University of Southern Mississippi where she earned her Bachelor of Arts/Education of the Deaf. This is her tenth year of teaching and fifth year with Madison County School District.
While at Germantown, Mrs. Hodges attends the school dances with her students. One of her students was involved with the football team by being the water boy. This year, with the help of Student Council, she started the Germantown Buddy Walk in honor of two of her students who have Down Syndrome .
This is one of her favorite quotes by an unknown author: “Know the person, not the disability, in fact look past the disability and you will see a person, a person who has the same thoughts and feelings as anyone else.”

Susan Godfrey - 2009-2010 Mrs. Susan Godfrey teaches math, Pre-Algebra, Learning Strategies, and sponsors the Student Council. She is a graduate of Mississippi State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. Since then, Mrs. Godfrey has taught sixth grade math, science, and spelling. In total, Mrs. Godfrey has taught for twenty-five years. Twenty-three of those years were taught in Madison County. She has also been math chair person and Beta Club sponsor. In 2004 she received her highly qualified status in mathematics.

Elizabeth Templeton - 2008-2009 Mrs. Templeton holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Mississippi College. She is certified in Social Studies and is recognized as a highly qualified teacher under the No Child Left Behind Act. She is also a member of the Mississippi Council for Social Studies. In her eight years of teaching, she has taught learning strategies and sixth grade Western Hemisphere and sponsored the Beta Club. Mrs. Templeton currently teaches eighth grade American History and sponsors the GMS Dance Team.

Mrs. Nicole Shows - 2007-2008 Mrs. Shows holds a BLS in Elementary Education from Mississippi State University. A fifteen year veteran teacher, she teaches sixth grade Science. She is also a sponsor of the Dance Team. She is a past teacher of learning strategies and Beta Club sponsor. As a member of the PTO, she formerly served on the board as the teacher liaison. |
Mrs. Morali - 2006-2007
Mrs. Morali is the Madison County Middle School Teacher of the Year and Madison Crossing Middle School Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Morali holds a BLS in Elementary Education from Millsaps College, and a MS in Education with a Specialization in Technology from Walden University. She also received Gifted Certification and Special Education Certification at Millsaps College. Mrs. Morali currently teaches Gifted Education at Germantown Middle School. She has also taught Art, Computer (IC3 Certified), Creative Writing, and Yearbook. She holds her MTE in Economics. Mrs. Morali has served as sponsor of the Jr. Beta Club and Assistant Coach for the Science Olympiad team. She also maintains the school web site. Ms. Morali was a presenter at the National Association for Gifted Children Annual Conference in Charlotte, NC. She recently completed her National Board Professional Teacher Standards certification.
