Mrs. Laura Morris--EL Tutor 2020-2021
Hello Mavs Families,
I’m thrilled to be the new EL tutor this school year! It's so important and fulfilling to be able to help students of all ages become better acquainted and proficient at the English language. I received my master’s degree in Elementary Education. from Mississippi College in 2003. I have spent the last fourteen years of my teaching career right here at Madison Crossing! I have had the great opportunity to teach Kindergarten for four years and first grade for ten years. Throughout my twenty-one years I’ve had the privilege to teach numerous students in various grades (K-8), in three different school districts throughout central Mississippi.
My husband, Prentiss, and I have been married for twenty-one years. We have two biological children, Kathryn (11th grade at GHS) and Sam (8th grade at GMS). Our family is currently in the process of expanding through adoption. This process has taken us since Oct. of 2018, but we are almost there! Our new son, Joshua will be two in Sept. and we can't wait to finally meet him!! While we continue to wait on a travel date to China, we continue filling out more paperwork and spending time as a family of four. We are active members of Colonial Heights Baptist Church in Ridgeland, where I serve in the nursery with the precious babies while, my husband teaches 8thgrade boys and serves as a deacon. We feel blessed to live in a community where faith, children, education, and families are valued!
I look forward to working with EL students and parents this school year! My heartfelt desire is to be an encourager, helper, and support to all EL students and parents as we learn together and build relationships.
Yours in Education,
