Dr. Tangia Miller

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! My name is Tangia Miller, and I will be teaching Algebra II and Calculus this year. I have been teaching math at Madison Central for 15 years. Prior to teaching math at Madison Central, I taught math one year at Callaway High School and math for 10 years at Kosciusko High School. Overall, I have been teaching for 26 years. I received a bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Jackson State University, a second bachelor's degree in Mathematics Education from Mississippi State University, and a Masters in Mathematics Education from Mississippi State University. Also, I received my Doctor of Education degree in Educational leadership and administration from Walden University. I am married to my husband James and together we have eight children (4 boys and 4 girls). Our children are grown and we have 21 grandchildren (10 boys and 11 girls).

I have high expectations for all my students here at Madison Central and expect each student to work to his/her fullest potential. I expect students to work at school and at home to fully understand concepts and objectives in mathematics,. Parents, please expect your son/daughter to have independent work assigned each class period and due the following class period (typically 2-3 assignments per week). I also plan for independent work to be started in class and students may or may not finish the work during class time. If your son/daughter needs extra help, I will be available for extra help before school at 7:45 am.

You may contact me by email at and expect an immediate response with 1 to 2 days. I encourage all parents to sign up to be an observer of your son's/daughter's Canvas course so you may stay informed about what is being covered in class and when assignments are due and when quizzes/tests are scheduled.

Working as a team (parents, student, and the teacher-myself), I truly believe your son/daughter will have a good and productive year. Please feel free to contact me at any time if you may have any questions or concerns this year. Together we can help your child be successful in school this year.

I am looking forward to working with you and your son/daughter this school year.  I assure you I will work diligently to make your son/daughter's classroom environment both engaging and productive.  Best wishes to you and your family this school year!
