    My name is Mecca Givens, I am an artist who enjoys drawing as my primary medium and using the mere pencil to create.

    My work focuses on the details while using the human figure to tell a story. My pieces are old yet present, playful yet serious, and detailed yet simplistic, reimaging the forgotten image through a new lens.                                                                                                                                                      

    Art is an expressive form that gives students the opportunity to express themselves and tell a narrative.  

    In my art class, I want students to conceptualize artistic ideas while stepping out of their comfort to try new things.
