      8th Grade Science

Hello, and welcome to Germantown Middle School and 8th grade science. This is my twenty- first  year of teaching and I am certified in both science and math.  My philosophy of education is the belief that teaching is truly a gift to enrich the lives of others.  On July 17th, I got married to Fred Nelson, Jr. on the beautiful island of Jamaica!  You can now call me Mrs. Nelson!  Recently, I also graduated from Jackson State University, with a Master's of Art in Teaching!  My husband is a retired Police Lieutenant for the City of Jackson with 4 adult children. I myself have 3 daughters and 1 son. My oldest daughter is in school to become a Doctor in Occupational Therapy at Belmont University in Nashville, TN.  My second oldest daughter also works in the healthcare field and is a Licensed Nursing Assistant. My 3rd daughter is a senior at Tougaloo College, studying to become a teacher, and my only son will be a 9th grader at Germantown High School this school year. I love science, shopping, traveling and spending time with my family. I am so excited about teaching this year at Germantown Middle School and look forward to having a successful school year.  Go Mavs!
