I am in my second year of teaching 5th grade here at East Flora Elementary. I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Alcorn State University. GO BRAVES!! I am super excited about the opportunity to get to know each of you and I’m looking forward to a happy and productive school year. This will be a year of becoming more responsible as well as more independent. I am eager to continue learning to teach both in and out of the classroom, and this includes communicating with you about the needs of your children. You are my greatest resource for understanding how best to foster the growth of your students.
I wanted to outline an average day in our classroom for you here so that you know what to expect and how best to support your student. Our daily routine consists of number corner/bellringer, lesson introduction, independent practice/centers, and closure/homework discussion. Our learning could look like anything from whole group instruction to small group instruction or centers. Students may also utilize sites such as Dreambox and Mastery Connect to measure student learning. Your student will get to practice many skills in our class and hopefully find many things that they love to do!
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns.
