About SGA
The MCHS Student Government Association (SGA) plans and promotes school-wide activities, represents the needs of the student body to the faculty and administration, and promotes leadership and community service among its members and the student body at large.
Each grade elects 10 SGA members (1 Class President, 1 Class Vice President, 1 Class Treasurer, 1 Class Secretary and 5 Class Representatives). The student body as a whole elects 6 Executive Officers (2 Co-Presidents, 2 Co- Vice Presidents, 1 Treasurer, and 1 Secretary).
Meetings
SGA meets every Monday morning at 8 AM in room 220.

How to Join
Students interested in serving on SGA will need to attend a mandatory interest meeting in the spring, run and win a campaign, and also meet the following requirements:
- Must be in good academic standing as defined by having a 75 or above average in all classes.
- Must have and maintain a conduct record free of suspensions or other administrative disciplinary actions.
- Candidates for Executive positions must have served as an SGA member at least one year prior to running and completed the term of service/office in good standing.
- Candidates for Student Body Co-Presidents must be members of the rising Senior Class and have previously served at least one (1) year on SGA and completed the term of service/office in good standing.
Financial Obligations
SGA members are obligated to the following financial requirements:
- $35 in dues
- 100 cans to Mississippi Food Network
- Other financial obligations that may arise throughout the year
