I am so excited your child will be in my class this year!
About me:
My name is Mrs. Julie Henry. My husband, Scott, and I moved to Madison three years ago from Homosassa, Florida. We have been married for 33 years and have 4 grown children, ages 31, 29, 23, and 21. My two oldest children live in Boston, Massachusetts. My oldest daughter lives with us and is taking classes to become a special education teacher while working at Petco. Our youngest daughter is a Senior at Ole Miss studying Exercise Science.
My undergraduate degree is from Virginia Commonwealth University, and I have a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Northcentral University. My certifications include K-6, Reading, and Special Education. In addition, I have various teaching experiences, including General Education Kindergarten through Fifth Grade and Special Education Kindergarten through Transition. Before coming to MAE, I was the curriculum specialist at a special day school for students with significant disabilities.
This year, we will focus on challenging students to excel through collaboration and hands-on activities. I believe that all children can learn and be successful in classrooms that allow for experimentation and risk-taking. Research shows that experimentation and safe risk-taking are the best ways to foster growth. Additionally, we will focus on developing each student’s communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

Hi! I'm Mrs. Ainsworth!!
Welcome to SECOND grade. I am excited about being able to experience this school year with you and your child. My mission is to make this the best year. First, I plan on doing my best to meet each student's individual needs. Second, I want to make the class a fun learning environment. I want each child to love reading, writing, and doing math.
Let me introduce myself to you. This is my 11th year at Madison Avenue. I am a 1992 graduate of The University of Southern Mississippi in Pre-Professional Psychology. I have been married to Danny Ainsworth for 19 years. We have a daughter in 12th grade this year. I have three dogs and one cat. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family.
