I am filled with excitement and joy to extend my warmest welcome to each and every one of you! My name is Jana' Slay, and it is my absolute pleasure to be your school counselor for 3rd-5th grade here at MCE. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Alabama A&M University. I earned my Master's in Education in School Counseling from Delta State University in 2017. In 2019, I obtained an Education Specialist degree in School Counseling from Delta State University in 2019. 

For those who are new to our Maverick family, I extend an extra special welcome. It is an honor to have you join our tight-knit community of learners, dreamers, and achievers. And to our returning families, welcome back! Your continuous support and trust in us are the pillars that make Madison Crossing Elementary a place where excellence thrives. As we embark on this thrilling journey together, I want to assure you that your child's well-being, happiness, and growth are at the very core of my heart. I am deeply committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment that allows each student to shine brightly as their unique self. The bond I share with every child is grounded in care, empathy, and love, just as if they were my own.
