Mr. Devin L. Cooper

Director // Academy of Multimedia & Communications

Hello students, parents, and colleagues! My name is Devin Levi Cooper and I’m excited to start another year with the Madison County Schools family! I am the Director of the Academy of Multimedia & Communications (AMC).

A bit about me, I was born in Germany (Army brat), my parents moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana for a bit, then I ended up in Kansas City, Missouri and grew up there. I graduated from Blue Springs High School where my love of video production developed and led me to attend college at Full Sail University in Florida where I received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Film Studies. After graduating, I dove into Videography which took me around the world as a freelancer for many types of work including commercials, promos, and travel videos throughout the countries of New Zealand, Thailand, Laos & Europe. I’ve also worked behind the scenes and on-set of feature films, music videos, and documentaries over my 10+ years in the industry. I am truly passionate about teaching through sharing my life experiences in my career direction in film, which truly shaped me as a person and artist.

As a film production (multimedia) teacher, I am very excited to bring my experience to Madison County Schools’ Academy of Multimedia & Communications and hopefully inspire your kids as much as I was back in my high school days! In my free time, my hobbies are photography, drawing, board games, watching movies (obviously), cooking and bringing my creative ideas to life. I am a family man also, my wife Mallory, and our 2 amazing daughters, Naomi & Magnolia. We are happy to be here in Mississippi, and I look forward to meeting you!
