Mr. Devin L. Cooper

Director // Academy of Multimedia & Communications

Hello students, parents, and colleagues! My name is Devin Levi Cooper and I’m excited about starting my 4th year with the Madison County Schools family! I am a teacher and the Director of the Academy of Multimedia & Communications (AMC), and my location is at Madison Central High School.

A bit about me; I was born in Germany (I'm an Army brat), my parents moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana for a bit, then I ended up in Kansas City, Missouri and grew up there. I graduated from Blue Springs High School where my love of video production developed and led me to attend college at Full Sail University in Florida, where I received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Film Studies. After graduating, I dove into videography, which took me around the world as a freelancer for many types of work, including commercials, promos, and travel videos throughout the countries of New Zealand, Thailand, Laos & Europe. I’ve also worked behind the scenes and on-set in over 100 films, music videos, and documentaries over my 15-plus years in the industry. I am truly passionate about teaching through sharing my life experiences in my career within the educational setting.

As a film production (and multimedia) teacher, I am very excited to bring my experience to Madison County Schools’ AMC and will hopefully inspire your kids as much as I was inspired back in my high school days! In my free time, my hobbies are photography, drawing, board games, watching movies (obviously), cooking and making memories with my wife & 3 kids. We have 2 daughters, Naomi & Magnolia, and a son, Levi. We are happy to have a home in Mississippi, and I look forward to meeting you!

Thanks,

Mr. Cooper
