    Welcome to 7th grade science.

I'm excited to be a part of the Madison County School District.  Even more so, I'm excited to be a Madison Middle Jaguar.  I look forward to working with your children this year.  I love to share my passion and love for science with my students.  Please email me if you have any questions or concerns.  I'll do my best to answer back ASAP!  Please refer to Canvas for assignments, quizzes, & test.

Just to tell you a little about myself.  I am a native of Shaw, MS.  I have been married 29 years.  I have two beautiful daughters and two furbabies.  This is my 14th year teaching.  In 1992, I received my B.S. degree in Airway Science/Electronic Systems from Jackson State University.  I worked for the Federal Aviation Administration as an Air Traffic Controller for 7 years.  After discovering my passion for teaching, I decided to obtain my teaching license.  From 2010-2013, I laid a very strong foundation teaching 4th and 5th grade students at Galloway Elementary School.  I taught 7th and 8th grade science at Byram Middle School for 7 years.   In 2017, I was named “Teacher of the Year” at Byram Middle School.   That same year, I was the recipient of the Voya Unsung Hero Award where I received a grant to fund a student-led mobile science lab.  During the summer months, I conduct STEAM workshops for children.   In May 2019, I received my Masters of Education in S.T.E.M. degree from Mississippi College.

Once again, I look forward to teaching your children science.  It's a Great Day to be a Jaguar!
