Welcome, ya'll! I'm excited about a great year in PAthways!
This will be my twelfth year in the classroom. I received my Business Marketing degree and Master in Elementary Education from Mississippi College, and my Gifted Education endorsement from the Mississippi University for Women. I've enjoyed time in both the ELA classroom and gifted classroom during my time in education. I love teaching, and I'm grateful to get to spend my time doing what I love!
When I'm not teaching, I'm probably enjoying time with my husband, Tony, and four-year-old, Trey. I also love walking my dogs, Molli, Winnie, and Dak, attending Mississippi State games, listening to a good book, napping, traveling, working in my garden, going out to eat, singing Christmas songs, browsing Amazon, or watching reality TV.
Middle school is a great time for students to get to explore their long-time passions, current fascinations, and new ideas and perspectives. PAthways gives them the opportunity to do just that. As we practice thinking skills, creativity, success skills, communication, informational literacy, and affective skills, students will have the opportunity to take ownership of their learning and push themselves to grow in many ways. It will be fun, but it won't be easy...and that's ok!
It's important to me to partner with students and families to help my students learn and grow as much as possible. I'm here as a resource, mentor, and support system for my students and their families. Please let me know if you need anything!
