Hi! My name is Kim Hopkins. I am excited about being your child's teacher this year! We are going to do so many fun things and learn a lot! I look forward to getting to know your child and your family.

Here is a little bit about me...I graduated from SUNY Geneseo in upstate New York in 2009 with a degree in Elementary Education and moved to North Carolina where I received my Masters in Reading Education in 2013. I was an assistant in first grade for two years and then taught my own first grade classroom for 3 years. I married my husband, Worth, in 2016 and we moved to Hattiesburg for him to go to William Carey for medical school. I taught first grade at Petal Primary School for 4 years. Worth matched at UMMC with the child psychiatry program and we moved to Brandon in 2020. This will be my 3rd year teaching Kindergarten at MAE. Our son, Alex, is 3 years old and our daughter, Piper, was born this past January. We also have two cats, Toby and Kevin.

I am looking forward to a great year in Kindergarten at MAE!
