My name is Ashley L. Young, and I am a seasoned teacher in my fifth year in the Madison School District and my fourteenth year teaching. Currently, I teach U.S. History, Advanced Placement U.S. History at Ridgeland High School. I serve as the RHS Social Studies Department Chair and as the head coach of the RHS Diamond dancers. I have taught in several diverse districts in Mississippi since 2011. I graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor’s in Arts in Sciences in Foreign languages French from Mississippi State University. I received a Master’s degree in Teaching also from Mississippi State University. I have sponsored and led student groups, which include: Drama Club, French Society, Varsity Cheer, and Varsity Dance. I am personally excited and grateful to be teaching in the Ridgeland Zone - Titan Country! I hope to use my personal experience and skills to help students to become life-long learners and true historians. I also hope to build lasting bonds of successful relationships to strengthen the Ridgeland community.
