Welcome!
My name is Lisa Carron, and I am thrilled to be working in the Special Education department at Highland Elementary School! I am new to Highland, but not new to teaching; I have taught in New Orleans, Virginia Beach, Jackson, and now Madison. I have twelve years of classroom experience, with three of those as a reading resource teacher. I love going to school and learning new things and hope to bring this same enthusiasm to my students! I received my B.A. from Tulane University, Masters of Science in Reading and Elementary Education from Loyola University in New Orleans, an MBA from the College of William and Mary in Virginia, and I am currently about to conclude my doctorate work at Mississippi College in Educational Administration! I love school and really enjoy being with children! I cannot wait to meet my new group in August!
I am married to a wonderful man, and we have two boys, Christopher (23) and Andrew (19). They both enjoy sports, especially baseball. My oldest son graduated and played college ball at Rhodes College in Memphis and is about to begin medical school in Dallas this August. My youngest son is about to begin his college career at Rhodes College in Memphis, where he will follow in his brother's footsteps. I am originally from New Orleans, and I visit the city as much as I can. I am an avid Saints fan, and enjoy going to the Superdome on Sunday afternoons in the fall.
When I am not at a game somewhere, I love going to the beach, playing the piano (although I'm not very good at it), and playing with my beautiful German Shepherd, Pepper.
Please feel free to email or call me at any time if you have a concern about your child. I will answer all communications within twenty-four hours. If you have an immediate need, please call the school office, as I only check email once a day.
I look forward to meeting you in August!
