Theme: Teamwork Makes the Dreams Work
Welcome to another exciting school year at Madison Avenue K-2 Elementary (MAE). We are very happy and excited that your family will be joining our family this fall. Already much preparation has been made to make this a pleasant experience for all of our students and parents. Important back to school dates are listed on the website to help you make this a successful school year. It is extremely important that you make note of these days.
Madison Avenue is a Model School for the Art. In addition to the visual arts, second grade students can participate in the school choir, MAE Melodies and the Strings program. Our school is also a PBIS Model School for the State of Mississippi. PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Intervention Support. This year we are introducing our students to the Kingdoms (family) system. Each student will be randomly grouped into four separate kingdoms. These are Responsibility (Blue), Respect (Red), Safe (Orange), and Fairness (Yellow). Every student and staff member will be a part of one of these four kingdoms. Each child is placed in a kingdom on entry to school and remains a member of this team throughout their time at school. With these distinctions, we are implementing some exciting new programs this year to teach the teamwork concept throughout the entire school family.
We are very pleased that our students continue to excel academically in all areas and have maintained one of the highest achievement statuses in the state.
Again, welcome to an exciting year of learning and thank you for selecting to be a part the Madison Avenue Family.
