Hello! My name is Shana Green and it is an honor to be a part of Ann Smith's Elementary school counseling team. I am a native of Hazlehurst, MS and I am entering my 6th year as a school counselor with experience at the elementary and middle school levels. I received my B.A. in Broadcast Journalism and M.S. in Guidance Education from Alcorn State University. I love reading, writing, and spending time with my puppy, Tuxedo "Tux" Green. I have a passion for helping others and as a result, in 2012, I founded a non profit called Sisters Helping Sisters where I help empower young girls with social, academic, career, and health issues that pertain to them.
I will be working closely with Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and a few 1st grade classrooms on academic, pro-social, and emotional lessons. These lessons are given as a class, individually, and in small groups.
Please don't hesitate to contact Mrs. Bishop and I with any questions or concerns you may have throughout the year.
