Welcome to my webpage! I teach US History, AP US History, and team-teach African American Studies. This is my 12th year teaching and my seventh year at Germantown. Class coursework will be posted on Canvas. Parents are encouraged to make an Observer account on Canvas. Instructions can be found here.
History is my passion and I am so grateful for the opportunity to share my love of the subject with you this year! My hope is that you leave the class a more informed citizen and voter, able to make connections between past and present.
You may have picked up on it from my last name -- my husband and I are originally from Louisiana (Geaux Tigers!). After graduating with a B.A. in History from Millsaps College, I worked as an Associate Director of Admissions before finding my passion for education. My husband, Michael, and I have a seven-year-old son, JB, who will be in second grade at Madison Crossing this year. In my free time I love gardening, cooking, reading historical nonfiction, and visiting museums. I look forward to getting to know you this year!
2024-2025 AP US History students: Your summer assignments can be found on the summer APUSH Canvas course. You should have an email with a course invitation in your student email inbox. Email Mrs. Guidry at lguidry@madison-schools.com if you need your invitation to be resent.
