NUMBER OF YEARS TEACHING AT MAE/MAUE: 22nd year at MAE/MAUE

OTHER EXPERIENCE: I have enjoyed teaching every grade 1st - 5th. I believe the experience I have gained from each of these grades helps me understand what the children have learned in the past and what they need to learn for the future! I am an author! I have written an easy to understand book, "What in the World is Common Core?" .

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND: I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the University of Alabama. Roll Tide!  I am certified to teach K-8. I am a National Board Certified teacher and past assessor of National Boards.

HOBBIES: I love to relax with my family. I love the beach, cool breezes, the sound of children’s laughter, and growing spiritually with my faith community.  I like to turn “trash” into treasures and have recently picked up the hobby of crocheting.  My husband and I love to go camping in our RV. We tailgate to all of the Alabama games and love cheering on Crimson Tide!  I love to laugh and believe that learning can be lots of fun! I LOVE to read great books to kids. I am a lifelong learner who learns as much from my students as they learn from me! I have another book about to be published titled, "Southern Love."

FAMILY INFORMATION: I am happily married with three children. Alex (23), Caroline Grace (19) is in the Army Reserve and is a freshman at Alabama .
