Welcome to Kindergarten!
My name is Karla Mitchener. I am thrilled to have your child in my class this year! I hope both of you are ready to learn a lot of new and exciting things.
We will be completing many FUN activities together this year!
My family moved to Madison from Starkville during the summer of 2017. I am from Tupelo, and have two older sisters. I went to Mississippi State University (go dawgs). While attending college, I met my husband, Rob. We were married on the beach in 2005. We have two beautiful daughters. Adleigh Claire is in 8th grade at Germantown Middle School, where she is on the GMS basketball team and the GHS Lady Mavs soccer team. Adleigh also plays competitive soccer for Jacksn Rush. Emme Caroline is in 5th grade Mannsdale Upper, and dances competitively for Repeat Performance Dance Studio. My family has a boxer named CowBelle, and a turtle named Owen.
This will be my 18th year teaching. I have taught kindergarten, 1st grade, and 4th grade. I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to teach at Mannsdale Elementary School.
My family enjoys watching Wheel of Fortune and playing board/card games together. We love to go to Mississippi State games on the weekends and spend time in the Junction.
I can't wait to begin this VERY adventurous year with your child. We are going to have so much fun together. Snuggle your kindergartener a little more, and get ready for their KINDERGARTEN year!
