Welcome to World Geography

My name is Coach Houghton and this is my seventh year at GMS.  I am excited to be teaching World Geography at GMS.  I have been teaching and coaching for over thirty years.  I am married to Dr. Debra Houghton, principal at Madison Crossing. We have three children.  Our daughter Haley and her husband A.J. live in Austin,Texas where she is a M.D. at Baylor Scott and White and he is a Coach / Teacher at Lake Travis H.S.  Our son Chase lives in Nashville, Tennessee and works for Dominos as a loss and pervention specialist, and our youngest daughter Kelsey lives in Tennessee, and works  for the U.S. Forest Service.  All three of our children are graduates from Mississippi College.  I graduated from Austin College in Sherman, TX, with a bachelors and masters degree in history and education.  I am looking forward to teaching my students about the world and the importance of knowing and living geography.
