Welcome to Fifth Grade at Mannsdale Upper Elementary! My name is Melinda Stringer, and I am thrilled to be teaching your child Science and Social Studies this year! I will be team teaching with Ava Aycock, who teaches Math, and Judeth Pollard, who teaches Language Arts. I graduated from The University of Southern Mississippi with a bachelor's of science degree in elementary education in 2008. I became National Board Certified in 2014. This is my tenth year teaching in the metro Jackson area. My previous years were spent in Rankin County, where I taught second, third, and fifth grades. My most recent experience is in fifth grade Math and Science, but I have taught all subjects in fifth grade.

My husband and I have one child, Ethan, who will be in kindergarten this fall at Mannsdale Lower. We also have a German Shephard named McBride and a cat named Finn :).

I am looking forward to getting to know your baby this year and teaching him/her through interactive lessons that will keep each child inthralled in the topics we study. Please do not hesitate to contact me at mstringer@madison-schools.com if you have any questions. Together, we will make this a year your child will not soon forget! GO MAVS!!!
