Message from Superintendent

    Ethan    Ella

Welcome to Fifth Grade at Mannsdale Upper Elementary! My name is Melinda Stringer, and I am thrilled to be teaching your child Science and Social Studies this year. I will be team teaching with Ava Aycock, who teaches Math, and Judith Pollard, who teaches Language Arts. I graduated from The University of Southern Mississippi with a bachelor's of science degree in elementary education in 2008 and became National Board Certified in 2014. This is my twelfth year teaching in the metro Jackson area. My years prior to coming to Madison County in 2017 were spent in Rankin County, where I taught second, third, and fifth grades.

My husband and I have two children, Ethan, who is in first grade at Mannsdale Lower, and baby Ella, who joined our family in July.  We also have a German Shephard named McBride and a cat named Finn :)

I am looking forward to getting to know your kiddo this year and teaching him/her through interactive lessons that will keep each child engaged in the topics we study. Please do not hesitate to contact me at mstringer@madison-schools.com if you have any questions. Together, we will make this a year your child will not soon forget! GO MAVS!!
