I grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. After graduating from Mississippi State University, I completed my Masters in Elementary Education at Samford University and this is my 14th year of teaching. I taught for 2 years in the Hoover City School System in Birmingham, AL before moving to Madison, where I taught 3rd grade for 4 years at Madison Station Elementary. I have been married to my husband, Rob, for 25 amazing years and we have 2 wonderful children. Our son, Mason, is a junior at Mississippi State University and Lydia, our daughter, is in 8th grade at Madison Middle School. After staying home with my children for several years, I returned to teaching and joined the MAUE team. This is my 8th year teaching 5th grade science. In my free time, I enjoy gardening, reading, Pilates, kayaking, going to the beach and the lake, and spending time with my family. In the fall, I cheer for Auburn and Mississippi State football and, in the spring, I am all about Mississippi State baseball. I am looking forward to an exciting year!!
