Mrs. Wilbanks

I am so excited to get the 2020-2021 year started. I want this year to be full of learning, building relationships, and having fun. I hope my class will not only teach you academic lessons but also life lessons. I have been at Madison Central for about 8 years and this is my 4th year in the classroom. My husband, Ken, and I have been married for 30years and we have lived in Madison for about 23 years. I love this school, I would not want to be teaching anywhere else!

I grew up in Jackson and graduated from Woodland Hills Baptist Academy (1985). I then attended Ole Miss. I have a B.S. in Secondary Ed with an emphasis in English.  I am the proud mom of 2 boys. Jamison, who is 25. He graduated from Ole Miss with a Managment degree and was just married this July. He works for a company in Jackson. Peyton, is a 2019 graduate of Madison Central is attending Jones County Community College on a soccer scholarship.  Peyton is the baby of the family,  so now we have no more children living in our house, official empty nesters. I am not sure how I feel about that!! Those 2 boys are my heart and I have loved watching them grow into the men God made them to be. My family enjoys spending time together, watching Peyton play soccer and going to any Ole Miss and Jaguar sporting events. We are members of Broadmoor Baptist Church and we love being a part of this awesome community of Madison.

I consider it a great privilege to be working at Madison Central, our administration, our faculty, and our students are second to none.  We are going to learn and have fun. I want my students to be better people when they leave my class than they were when they entered. This year in English we will be studying American Literature. We will be reading novels such as Tuesdays With Morrie, The Great Gatsby, The Things They Carried. We will also be reading some William Faulkner and Eudora Welty. I hope the novels and stories will spark some great class discussions, this is a way for all of us to get to know each other.

I can't wait to see what great things this year has in store for all of us and I pray this year will be the best one yet!

Hotty Toddy and Go Jags!!!!
