Welcome to the 2017-2018 School Year. I am excited to be teaching sixth grade Math at Olde Town Middle School. I know we will have a great year.
About the Teacher
My name is Betheney Saxton. I am a graduate of Mississippi College with a Bachelor of Science in Education. I have been married to my husband Todd Saxton for ten years . My husband and I have two boys, Smith who is five and Drake who is a year old. I have always lived in the Ridgeland, Madison area and love living here. I am an only child and was raised by my mom Beverly Smith. My passion is basketball. I have coached a girls recreational teams and look forward to getting back to coaching very soon. I look forward to learning about you as the school year gets started.
We have initiated a new Extra Credit Program for Math. The Students have a User Name and Password for Khan Academy. The Students know how to log into their personal account (we Did this in Class). The Students are required to finish two lessons per week. The Students can do more than two a week and receive 10-point bonus. Once they have ten finished extra assignments they will get an extra quiz grade. This is an attempt for the students to work on specific skills that they are weak in based on Case and MAP data. This will help them on the state test coming up in May. I also want to give them the opportunity to pull up averages. Please email me or Contact me if you have any questions. Have a great weekend.
