As Willy Wonka would say, "They are the music makers and they are the dreamers of dreams."

These kids are readers, thinkers, talkers, and questioners.

They are future doctors, world travelers, scientists, entrepreneurs, teachers... They are our future and I want to inspire them.  They needed to have "an area that provides hands-on, creative ways for students to design, experiment, and invent as they engage in science, engineering, and tinkering."

A MakerSpace is a metaphor for a unique learning environment that encourages tinkering, problem solving, play and open-ended exploration. I wanted our library to have a creation station full of STEM tools with learning tools like Legos, magnetic tiles and connecting blocks. Resources that allow kids to build and use their imaginations. We even have a 3D printer!  With our MakerSpace, our library can embrace unique new possibilities and foster problem-solving skills in these future leaders. I want the students who visit the library to have a spot that fosters creativity in a fun, exciting way. The MakerSpace takes our library to a whole new level.
