Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Pam Maddox
My name is Pam Maddox. This is my third year teaching at Olde Towne but my 30th year to teach. I have had the privilege of being in classes of intellectually gifted for 27 years.
This year promises to be exceptionally good. Kids who are eager to learn, a place that accepts them and me, parents who believe that Pathways is important—all mixed together means great things will happen this year!
New to Pathways:
- Madison County has a new director of gifted services, Shelley Crunk, 601-853-1326. She has been a teacher of the gifted. More recently she was the evaluator for many of the students who were screened into Pathways.
- The State of Mississippi Education Department will be monitoring Madison County this spring. The teachers of the gifted are preparing for cite visits and the documentation that our district must show.
Besides calling me to have a conversation, I have this school sponsored webpage that you can access through the Olde Towne website. I post photos and information about what the students have done. I do not identify students in the photos, but images of student are posted. If you do not want your child’s photo on the webpage, please let me know, in addition to signing a form regarding that privacy right.
As you know, teacher-student contact is strictly forbidden. That means all forms of communication….cell phone, Instagram and similar accounts, email, etc.…is not allowed. When I need to get information to you I will use Remind, a school approved communication app. Through Remind students can list their phone numbers AND parents can list theirs. To join….parents, students, grandparents or others who will be responsible caregivers (NOT siblings!)….in a mobile phone’s text message for the number write 81010. Then for the message write @otmsmaddox. Send. This will automatically add you to the class.
This will be the BEST year!
