Welcome to the 2024–2025 school year! I’m thrilled to welcome you and your child to music class at M.A.E. I can’t wait to work together as we explore, learn, and enjoy music this year!

About the Teacher

Hello! I'm Jerome Hawkins, and I'm passionate about sharing my knowledge and experiences in music. I firmly believe that a well-rounded education begins with the Arts. I earned both my Bachelor and Master of Music Education degrees from Jackson State University—go Tigers! Additionally, I hold a Specialist in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University. For the 2022-2023 school year, I was honored to be named Teacher of the Year for grades K-2 in the Madison County School District. I also love performing on the violin with the Mississippi Symphony and collaborating with other musicians in the Jackson-Metro area.
