    [Kris Thigpen]

Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year. I'm very excited and honored to be joining the faculty and staff at Ridgeland High School. This is my ninth year as an educator. I have had the opportunity to teach in various school districts across the state, giving me a unique perspective on students, academic practices, and successful school cultures. My goal as a teacher is to have every student reach their academic potential while encouraging my students to be more open minded when studying history.

    About the Teacher

I'm originally from Taylorsville, MS. I graduated from Taylorsville High School in 2005 and USM in 2010 with a BA in History . Upon graduating, Hattiesburg, MS became my home for the next 5 years.  I enjoy spending time with my wife and kids and coaching football, and going to the gym. I will be teaching U.S. Government, Psychology, Sociology, and Economics. My coaching duties are assistant varsity football and assistant boys track and field.
This will be my third year at Ridgeland High School and seventh overall. Please contact me by email. I check it several times a day and at night. kthigpen@madison-schools.com
