Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Amy Pinkerton
Greetings and welcome to our class website! My name is Amy Pinkerton, and I am thrilled beyond words to be Camden Elementary's fifth-grade math and science teacher for the 2018-2019 term! This is my third year being a part of the Camden family, and I feel so blessed to be a part of this wonderful community of learners!
In December of 2009, I realized the culmination of a lifelong dream—I graduated Summa cum Laude from Belhaven University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. Shortly thereafter, I received my Mississippi teacher license. In addition, I have earned three endorsements, enabling me to teach reading in grades K-12, English in grades 7-12, and ICT I in grade 7. Recently, I earned my Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Mississippi College.
While this is only my third year to teach in the Madison County School District, I am no stranger to the classroom. Prior to my experience here at Camden, I taught fourth grade (all subjects) for three years, seventh grade (ICT I) for one year, and I spent a great deal of time in fifth- and sixth-grade classrooms as a long-term substitute. I greatly enjoyed my experience in the middle school grades, but I am ecstatic to be teaching again in the upper elementary grade that I so adore. Fifth-grade students are some of my favorite people, and I am blessed beyond measure to be working with children who are at an age that is so near and dear to my heart.
We are going to have a wonderful year! I am privileged and proud to serve Camden's students, and I look forward with great anticipation to helping each child reach his or her fullest academic and social potential. Their success is my top priority!
I can be contacted throughout the year at the email address and phone number listed above. Check back often as I endeavor to keep our class website up-to-date with coming events, class assignments, class photos, tutorials, and other resources to offer continued support outside the classroom.
It’s going to be an outstanding year! Let's get started!
