Madison Middle

We are very excited about the upcoming year in Advanced Art. We are well underway with the basic of paintings but will soon dive into Scholastic Art competition and then onto our wall mural. We love doing field trips and will let you know as soon as possible when we have those nailed down. We also give students the opportunity to travel in the summer with us. 

 

 

 

After graduating from Forest Hill High in Jackson, MS, Mr. Tyler Johnson attended Hinds Community College where he played soccer for two years and began taking art classes.  He later transferred to Ole Miss where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Art with an emphasis in graphic design and a minor in English. After managing sign companies in Orlando, Florida and Oxford, MS after college, he decided that he wanted to be more involved in the fine arts so he went back to Hinds and completed an intensive teaching program to earn his teaching certification.  He is an active artist in our local community.  He has designed logos such as Pizza Shack and Madison County Gymnastics to name a few and he participates in art shows and festivals around the state. 

 

 

 Catie Stoltzfus

 

Born and raised in Jackson, MS. Catie Stoltzfus studied at both Miss State and Univ of Southern Miss where she received her bachelor's in Interior Design and a minor in Art. For a few years after college, she owned Paint It My Way in Jackson where she realized her true calling was teaching art not just providing a great venue for it. she went back to school, aka Belhaven, and received her Master's in Teaching. Since then she has held various positions in the Art Education field and is very excited to be at Madison Middle teaching art to all these wonderful students!
