Welcome to Madison Avenue Elementary!
I am so excited and thrilled to be a part of the Madison Avenue Community! It is an honor and privilege to be able to serve our amazing teachers, staff, little JAGS, and parents. I look forward to an exciting year!
A little about ME...Upon graduation from Clinton High School, I attended Hinds Community College and Belhaven College on a baseball scholarship and earned a degree in History. I have two masters' degrees, one from Mississippi College in Social Studies Education and the second from Jackson State University in Educational Leadership. I started my teaching career at Velma Jackson High School, where I taught Government and Economics while also coaching football, baseball, and softball. I met so many wonderful kids and parents who made such an impact on my teaching philosophy. My next career move was to Germantown Middle School, where I taught 6th grade social studies and coached middle school football. I loved my time at Germantown and enjoyed helping so many 6th graders make the transition from elementary to middle school.
Fast forward to where I am today, my DREAM JOB at Madison Avenue! I love being a JAG! My wife, an alumni of Madison Central, has always taken so much pride in being a Jaguar and now we share that jaguar pride in our home and my job!! We have two children, Brady, born in 2009, and Anderson, born in 2018. We are also animal lovers. We have 1 dog named Rosco and 2 cats named Tiggy and Fancy. On the weekends, I enjoy hunting, umpiring baseball, taking care of my yard, and spending time with my family. We love to watch movies, go out to eat, and play card games.
Thank you for allowing me to serve you and your family at Madison Avenue Elementary. GO JAGUARS!!!
