I am Dock Daniel, a National Board Certified P.E. teacher at Mannsdale Upper. I have a master's degree from JSU in P.E. and my Specialist Degree from DSU in Education Administration and Leadership. I am entering into my 19th year as a teacher and am excited about another new school year. This year we have added an outdoor fitness area and are now a Project Fit America school. This is a great addition to our Growing Beter Citizens inititive and our 10 elements low ropes course, outdoor adventure activities and garden. Our main focus is on developing teamwork, communication and cooperation skills while being physically active in PE classes.
You can keep up with all the awesome things we do by following us on FB @ MUES Growing Better Citizens
I have played and coached many sports in life. I played college football at Lambuth University in Jackson, TN and professional football in Seinajoki, Finland. I have coached football from flag football to college level football, wrestling, cross-country, powerlifting and archery. I have run 13 half marathons, 2 full marathons and completed several kayak races. I currently work out at Orangetheory Fitness Madison.
Please help your student to remember when they have PE. All students are required to wear tennis shoes on PE days for optimum safety and to help them do their best. We define these shoes as: 1) your toes are hidden, 2) they have a rubber type flexible bottom, 3) they tie or velcro, 4) a professional basketball player would wear them in a game. Students will receive a reminder note to bring home if they forget to wear he correct shoes on PE days. After the 4th time it will result in a minor infraction form.
