Mrs. Katie Chew - Mannsdale K-2nd Music
“Music gives us a language that cuts across the disciplines, helps us to see connections and brings a more coherent meaning to our world.”
–Ernest Boyer, President, Carnegie Foundation
About the Teacher:
I received my Bachelor's degree from Delta State University. This will be my seventh year at Mannsdale Elementary and my tenth year teaching Music in Madison County. My husband and I have been married for ten years and we have two boys, Beckett and Elijah. I LOVE teaching music and look forward to meeting you and working with your children!
About K-2nd Music:
The students at Mannsdale come to Music once a week. We will sing songs, learn traditional dances, create dances/movements, play instruments, learn about the orchestra, study various composers, explore music through literature lessons, experience a wide variety of Music styles, and learn to read and write music. We will monitor and continue to follow our district and CDC guidelines and protocols to keep our students safe in the music room. Please check out our "MES Music Calendar" tab for more details on upcoming events and other special announcements.
Please check your child's Canvas account for music lessons, announcements, resources, and more!
There are also links in Clever, but Canvas will be the primary platform for all specials lessons and resources.
