    Welcome Message

Welcome to your Senior Year!  In this course we will be building upon the abilities you already own.  We will work to sharpen your skills in reading, writing, and public speaking.  Our focus will be a survey of British literature (and William Faulkner -- "The American Shakespeare"), and you will master outside reading requirements.  Writing assignments will range from informal responses to formal literary analyses.  Grammar practice will concentrate on advanced skills necessary for success in college, in the workplace, and in the military service branches.  All lessons and homework assignments are posted on the Lesson Plans Blog under the English IV heading.

    About the Teacher

The 2018-2019 academic year is my 30th year as a licensed teacher in Mississippi.  I am a graduate of Central High School in Jackson (1976), and I earned a B.A. in English from Millsaps College in 1980. It is my privilege to be working with so many talented teachers, administrators, and students at Madison Central High School.  Preparing young learners for a positive adult life experience is paramount at Madison Central, and I am here to help students advance toward their educational and career goals.
