    Welcome to First Grade at Madison Crossing Elementary! 

    I’m Edie Gray and I am so happy to be your child’s teacher this year! Teaching kids to read and love learning is my passion, and I’ve been lucky to work with young children for over 30 years! I am married with 3 grown children, and 3 big dogs. I’m excited to start my 11th year teaching 1st grade at MCE. 

     

    I grew up in Starkville and went to Mississippi State—home of the Bulldogs! I got my Master’s degree from Mississippi College. I also hold an Educational Specialist’s degree in Leadership, also from Mississippi College. I am National Board-Certified Teacher, and Reading Recovery trained. I love to learn new things, and I am always researching the best instructional strategies to use to teach my students. I love to see how much my students learn and grow during our year together.
