It is such an honor to work in this amazing school with these wonderful students! This is my 25th year to teach band and I am looking forward to many more! A little about me- I am from Yazoo City and received my Bachelors in Music Education from Delta State University in 1998. I have a Masters in Educational Leadership and a Specialists in Instructional Leadership from William Carey University. I am passionate about teaching students and helping them realize their full potential.
In the Madison County Band program I assist with the Madison Central Marching Band and conduct the Concert Band. I also teach beginner saxophones and 7th grade woodwinds at Madison Middle School. I look forward to helping in any capacity that I can.
I am a member of the MS Band Directors Association, Phi Beta Mu and the American School Band Directors Association. I have been a clinician for honor bands all over the state and I am a member of the state superintendent of education's teacher advisory council. I am a National Board Certified Teacher and a mentor for student teachers.
I have twins who graduated from MCHS in 2019. Kaitlyn is an elementary education major at Ole Miss and Peyton is a music major at the University of Southern MS. When I'm not teaching band I love to cook, garden, read and take care of my adopted turtle, Claudia! :)
