    Welcome Message

Greetings! I am Tamekia Erves, a kindergarten resource teacher.  I really enjoy working at Ann Smith Elementary!  This year will be a journey of learning and growth for your child. I truly believe that all children can learn, just maybe not at the same time or in the same way.  In my classroom, your child will have different activities that will help his or her learning style. I collaborate with teachers frequently to understand my students' progress in their classrooms and provide support. Our class is fortunate to have a great instructional assistant, Mrs. Pamela Mabery.

    About the Teacher

I am happily married with two children, a daughter, who is a sixth grader and a three year old little boy.  This is my eighteenth year as an educator. During that time, I have taught fourth grade, kindergarten, second grade and have been a school librarian.  This is my fifth year as a resource teacher.  I graduated from Langston University in Oklahoma with my Bachelor's degree and Jackson State University with my Masters in Elementary Education.  I am certified in several areas. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, traveling, shopping and going to the movies.  Here are a few of my favorites:

    Season: Fall
    Holiday: Christmas
    Food: Italian and Mexican
    Colors: Teal, Pink and Brown

We will have a great year!!
