(For immediate release: Madison County Schools, May 27, 2014)

Madison County Schools is pleased to announce that Wesley Quick has been named the new principal of Germantown High School.

Quick, a resident of the Maverick Zone, is currently an assistant principal at Germantown High. He replaces Mr. Ted Poore, who is retiring after 30 years in education.

Mr. Quick holds twelve years educational experience as a classroom teacher and administrator. During his three year tenure as Assistant Principal of Germantown High School, Mr. Quick facilitated professional development opportunities for staff, served as the audio/visual and technical coordinator and developed the master schedule among many other duties.

Upon acceptance of his new position, Mr. Quick stated, “My family and I are excited, blessed, and honored to be able to serve Germantown High School and the Maverick community as lead principal. I, along with the faculty and staff, pledge to build upon the foundations of excellence laid before us to provide the best comprehensive high school experience.”

Dr. Ronnie McGehee, Superintendent, commented, “We are extremely proud to announce Wesley Quick as the Principal of Germantown High School. Mr. Quick’s interest in Germantown is sincere. His interest and focus on developing each student as a whole person is commendable. He will continue to bring out the best in Germantown and, I believe, Germantown will bring out the best in him.”

When asked about his retirement, Mr. Poore stated, “I am currently completing my 30th year in education, with the last 21 having served as an administrator in Madison County Schools. It has been my honor and privilege to have worked alongside the very best teachers, staff, and administrators in this country, and to have served some of the best students and parents in the world. I will be eternally grateful to God for the opportunities these years have provided me, but most importantly for the wonderful relationships that He has blessed me with along the way.”

Please join the Board of Education and Madison County Schools in welcoming Mr. Wesley Quick to his new position and congratulating Mr. Ted Poore on a successful career serving the families of Madison County.
