Welcome to 5th Grade at East Flora Elementary School!

I am in my 23rd year at East Flora Elementary.  I have been teaching 5th grade for 18 years now.  I teach science to all 5th graders and ELA to my homeroom students. I received my bachelor's degree from Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans, LA in Biology and my teaching certification from Belhaven University in Jackson, MS.  However, I began my education at the very school I now teach at, EFE!  I hope that my love and knowledge of science and enjoyment of reading will encourage my students to become independent thinkers who can function in an ever-changing society.
