Welcome to 7th Grade Science!

I am so excited to be teaching your student this year at Old Town! I have been in the classroom for 19 years and this is my 10th year at OTMS. 

I am married to my wonderful husband Brian and we have two daughters, Clare (24) and Erin (22). We are all huge Mississippi State fans and enjoy spending time at MSU watching both baseball and football. Clare recently graduated from MSU and will be starting nursing school this fall. Erin is in her Junior year at State and is working to finish her degree in business. We have a sweet rescue Daisy along with our daughters' dogs Tatum and Cash. We are members of Grace Crossing Baptist Church where we serve on various committees. I am currently working on my master's degree from Belhaven University in Educational Leadership - Curriculum and Instruction. It indeed is an exciting time in our lives! 

I truly believe that each and every student is capable of learning. In our classroom, your student will be participating in hands-on activities, student-led discussions, Canvas assignments, and project-based learning activities. The best tool your student can have in my classroom is a positive outlook and a hard work ethic. We will work together to make sure that learning is our top priority. Some suggestions for staying organized in my classroom:

1. A 3 ring binder

2. A pocket folder

3. Notebook paper

4. Assorted colored pens/pencils

5. Chromebook that is fully charged each day

6. Note cards

I am looking forward to a great year. I will be in touch with each of my parents through calls and emails. Please, do not hesitate to reach out to me should you need to. Not only am I here for the kids, but I'm here for you!
